According to Plan I’m a planner. I always have been. I can remember sitting down in grade school and mapping out my entire school schedule…exactly what classes I would take for every semester until I graduated. This same schedule I would redo over and over as the years progressed to make sure I was still on track. I had a plan for exactly where I wanted to be, but it was just that…MY plan. James 4:14 “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and also do this or that.” The funny thing about having a plan is that you have to stick to it. When you get off course you start to get stressed and worried about getting back on track. Sticking to your plan doesn’t guarantee you success either. Sometimes you stick to your plan and you still fail miserably. Sometimes you have to rewrite the plan and try to make it fit, but it's just not right. Then there is GOD’S plan…sometimes it defies logic, sometimes it takes great patience, and sometimes it pushes you to seek things you never dreamed you would want. That’s the beauty of God’s plan, though…it’s not about YOU. It’s about GOD. When you seek God’s will with your whole being, He will change your heart and your desires to be like His. Instead of stressing over accomplishing YOUR plan, you can rejoice in accomplishing God’s. His will is perfect and it never disappoints. Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then you shall call upon me, and you shall go and pray unto me, and I will listen to you. And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.” Letting go of the old plan can be tough. We dig our heals in and hold tight to what is familiar and safe. Pray today that God will change your heart to be all in to His plan....no turning back! Want to find out more about what it means to have a personal relationship with God?
