Patient Endurance Waiting… I personally find waiting one of the hardest things to do. In any situation, whether it is waiting to find out very important test results from your doctor or something as simple as waiting for the light to turn green as you drive. We have all heard or said the phrase ‘patience is a virtue.’ And we all know that this is easier said than done. But how many times in these moments or circumstances of waiting, do you find yourself seeking the Lord? As you wait for the test results you are fervently praying that you will receive positive results. And while you are waiting at the red light you are rockin’ out to your favorite worship CD. We don’t always see it, but it is in these times the Lord has us waiting, is when He wants us to draw closer to Him.   In Galatians 5:22 patience is listed as one of the fruits of the spirit. When you are walking steadfastly with the Lord, you will automatically bear these fruits. I love that in some versions of the bible patience is referred to as longsuffering. How would you describe longsuffering? For me it’s simple, to suffer long. Because isn’t that how it feels sometimes to wait?   James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces PATIENCE, but let PATIENCE have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.   Yes…it is hard to wait and be patient, but Lord will bless you in these times. The Lord always sees the end result! He wants us to find our strength in Him and Him alone. Colossians 1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, for all patience and long suffering for his joy;   There are many examples in the scriptures, such as Job and Abraham whose walk was characterized by their patience. Our ultimate example of long suffering is Jesus! He demonstrated patient endurance. Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus , the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.   As we wait… Let’s look to Jesus!!!
