Seasons of Our Lives “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Life is a series of seasons. This is both literal and metaphorical. As summer begins to make way for fall, each of us is transitioning into a new season of our own lives. For some, this next season includes back to school shopping, fall sports and hopefully a more structured routine. While others look forward to the prospect of cooler temperatures and pumpkin flavored treats at the coffee shops. We all find ourselves in spiritual seasons as well. Some of us are coming out of a trial with rejoicing while others can sense that they are on the brink of something. As our lives start to shift it’s important that our focus remains the same. Our lives should be intentional in serving Christ. Each new circumstance that arises is an opportunity to show faithfulness to Jesus. Each new person that we meet presents us with the privilege of sharing the Gospel. Every challenge and frustration is a reminder that God is refining us; purifying us. “…but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:4,5) Life is busy. It seems to only get busier and as the busyness comes so does the possibility of leaving God out of this season of our lives. We must be disciplined in seeking Christ; “discipline yourself toward godliness”. (1 Timothy 4:7) Don’t let the busyness of your life take away the purpose of your life. Seek God. Pursue God. And He will bless this season.
