Part of His Plan Read Acts 8:26-40 How amazing is it that God has adopted us as His children. With the acceptance of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, we are able to have a relationship with God the Father for eternity. If that is not exciting enough, there is another blessing that God allows us to partake with Him. That is the gift of sharing His gift of love and salvation with others! The fact that God would let us play a role in His Master plan is beyond surreal. We are able to catch a glimpse of how God used Phillip in the end of Acts 8. The Angel of the Lord spoke to Phillip and asked him to travel on a road that he would not have chosen for his own path. He listened and as he was travelling, he saw a large caravan escorting an Ethiopian Eunuch. This would be the modern day equivalent of a high ranking government politician. The Spirit sent him to overtake the chariot and speak to the Eunuch who was most likely guarded by soldiers. This was so overwhelming but Phillip listened and in turn led this powerful man to the Lord and even baptized him! God was already preparing the heart of the Ethiopian and only needed Phillip to be obedient to the calling. Was this marvelous event attributed to how amazing Phillip was? The simple answer to that question is an astounding, no. This was God giving Phillip step by step instructions on how to assist in the plan that God had to bring others to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. So often do we get focused on what we can do based on the skills that we think we do or do not possess. As children of God, the only focus we need to utilize is discerning God’s voice in our lives and becoming sensitive to what He is calling us to do. Just like when a father lets his children help him perform menial tasks around the house, he does not need their help. He allows them to help him knowing that is a way that he can teach his children and his relationship with them can become even more intimate. God is our heavenly father and has called each and every one of us to be a part of His magnificent plan. As we listen to His voice for direction let us be doers of the Word and not just hearers. Let us go out today and be sensitive to whoever God might want us to share His love with. Want to find out more about what it means to have a personal relationship with God?
