True Strength Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." When we wake up each day, we are faced with a number of obstacles. Some obstacles are simple and merely take moments to figure out how to simply leap over their challenges. Others can be quite dumbfounding and can cause us to question how we even achieve simple tasks. The past few weeks our family has had our fair share of obstacles. One of these obstacles has been an attack on the physical health of my wife, myself, and our children. Sickness is not fun by any means and it slows us down to a snail's pace when we need to accomplish so many things in our day to day lives and for the Lord. What is worse is that we sometimes lose hope and do not turn to the right place for strength. Today, I woke up and had zero strength to even take a shower. As the day went on, more situations arose that needed a great deal of strength and I was certain that falling on my face was inevitable. As sad as this is to admit, I never turned to the Lord and simply asked for the strength to proceed. The God that created me and formed me 30 years ago had become my last option, regrettably so. I stopped and sought His face and simply asked God to lift me up and give me the strength to finish my work day and continue on with the tasks He had for me to complete. It seemed crazy to me that right after my prayer came to a close, nothing happened. Nothing like what I had hoped for. My nose was still stuffed up, my head still hurt and my energy level was still on the bottom rung. Something completely different took place, my heart changed and I saw the chores in front of me as a blessing and was uplifted in my spirit. Physically I was still worn down but God lifted my spirit to a place that no physical ailment could have destroyed. Too often, we turn to our own strength and expect God to do what we want. His strength is one that surpasses the physical realm and can lift us up more than we could ever imagine! Turn to the Lord when you are in the pits and He will give you the strength you never knew you could have! Want to find out more about what it means to have a personal relationship with God?
