Are you ready to grow? In a recent reading I learned that there are four areas that are needed to gain success and love what you do. It comes down to four basic pillars: Interest, Practice, Purpose, and Hope.
As I dug deeper into this study I began to ask myself how I could use this to further enrich my spiritual walk, so I felt it was a good idea to answer these questions and then look to the Bible to help guide my answers.
My INTEREST is to be Christ like
Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
How do I PRACTICE?
Ephesians 4:22-23, “To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
What is my PURPOSE?
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
What is my HOPE?
Romans 5:2-5, “Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
The book I’m reading says that the most important of the four pillars is Hope. We must never give up hope. We will all have tough times and go through what might seem like an impossible trial, but the love and grace of God will always be there and he is allowing us to go through life’s experiences to enrich our walk with Him.
Prayer: I pray Father God that you will help each one of us to stay on track with our goal to be more Christ like and you will let each of us reach to your Word when we need encouragement and answers. Amen.
