Isaiah 41:10, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
4-6 years ago God started saying no to me in certain areas of my life that were my direction, my agenda, my favorite things. During this time I was also realizing how little I have heard no from my parents and even from God. I do not accept no easily.
In the midst of this my first grader was a very tough student to homeschool. I couldn't get her to come sit down and work and she fell behind in her learning. I am a determined person and so my mindset was get the other kids done with their schoolwork for the year and then I could concentrate on my first grader. But God's will was different. He revealed that she need to be held back and that it was a heart issue and God wanted to reach her heart in this. Again I heard no, but as I moved in this direction I asked God for a verse and within 2 weeks Isaiah 41:10 stuck out emphatically for this situation!
I have been amazed at Gods tenderness, His pursuit of me, and His persistence that I stay on this path which is a path of structure. Taking care of myself so I can be the healthiest me later on. Also not going back to those agendas from before that weren’t His will, and not making new ones! I often am ready to get off this path, but God has a new word for me over and over again. There was a season where I was not on the path at all in some areas of my life. The conviction would seem to hit me hard physically on the head. I had to take heed and remember that the structured path is God’s will for me and that I cannot go around it or go through the back way. There are no loopholes to be found! Over and over again because of this and many other circumstances that came up, my life verse continually pops up in my mind, often just shortened to, “DO NOT BE DISMAYED! I WILL UPHOLD YOU WITH MY RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND!
So I end with a favorite verse of mine from the Amplified Bible: Hebrews 13:5, “Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money (including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions) and be satisfied with your present (circumstances and with what you have) for He (God) himself has said, “I WILL NOT IN ANY WAY FAIL YOU, NOR GIVE YOU UP, NOR LEAVE YOU WITHOUT SUPPORT. I WILL NOT IN ANY DEGREE LEAVE YOU HELPLESS, NOR FORSAKE NOR LET YOU DOWN (relax my hold on you) ( ASSUREDLY NOT!)”
