Make Time For Jesus!

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

The scripture above is a very well known scripture and something that is so simple—right? I am married to my wonderful husband and I am a mom of four amazing kids. Three boys, one girl. Their ages range from 10 all the way down to 2. My kids are very involved in sports, school, and church. In turn, my husband and I are very involved in anything and everything that our kids do. I am also a neurotic clean freak. So you can imagine with four kids, I am constantly picking up toys, cleaning up after meals, and doing loads and loads of laundry. My husband and I are also very involved in ministry at our church. As you can see my life is very active. Our family is constantly on the go. There is literally never a dull moment. I sometimes feel as if I barely have time to breathe. Did you see anywhere in there when I talked about my time with Jesus? Yes, I am involved in ministry. Yes, I am sitting in a church service each week. Lately though, the Lord has been convicting me of not setting aside precious time that I should be spending with Him. He has been convicting me for not making Him my very first priority. I don’t know about you, but for me, those days where I sit down, open God’s word and I seek Him first, those are the days when I can get through the chaos of life a little easier. Am I saying that life is easier when I spend time with Jesus? No. I am saying that I can take on life way easier when I am in constant communication with Him. Life is not always easy but Jesus can definitely lighten the load. Growing up, my mom always used to say… You make time for what’s important to you. I absolutely believe that is true. In my life, Jesus is important to me. Having an intimate relationship with Him is important me. Getting to know Him more and more each day is important to me. So it should be easy for me to make sure that Jesus is the most important part of my day! Sometimes we just need to stop, be still and sit in the presence of Jesus.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

I encourage you to make time for Jesus! You will never regret it.
